New Delhi: The BJP organized a 'Thank You Modi ji' rally in Burari, North Delhi, praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his recent decisions regarding land mutations in rural villages and the elimination of mandatory no objection certificates for power connections in select areas of the city. Virendra Sachdeva, Delhi BJP chief, referred to these actions as a "Diwali gift" for residents of villages and unauthorized colonies. He shared that these longstanding issues were addressed after the BJP's MPs met with LG VK Saxena and requested his intervention. Sachdeva commended the sensitivity of the Narendra Modi government in responding promptly to the concerns of millions living in unauthorized colonies and non-conforming areas by eliminating the need for departmental NOCs for electricity connections and reopening property mutations in Delhi villages.

However, the AAP accused the BJP of attempting to wrongly take credit for the work done by their government and mislead the public. The AAP highlighted that the Delhi government provides the most affordable electricity in the country and questioned why none of the 22 BJP-ruled states offer free electricity if they genuinely care for the people of Delhi. At the rally, Sachdeva emphasized that due to restrictions, property transfers were hindered, but after their request, the mutation restrictions were lifted. He mentioned how the requirement for DDA's NOC for electricity connections in unauthorized colonies was also removed.

Sachdeva expressed confidence in BJP's victory in the upcoming Delhi polls in February and announced plans for the government to extend electricity and water subsidies to middle-class households. The top priorities on the agenda include the implementation of the Prime Minister's housing scheme, Ayushman Bharat, and the regularization of temporary workers such as home guards, bus marshals, and guest teachers. While questioning the AAP government about the demolition of slums, Sachdeva assured that no colony would be removed without providing alternate housing for its residents under the BJP's leadership. He further stated that the Yamuna River would be free of pollution within a year as part of the Nirmal Yamuna Plan.
